THE MAKERY

In June of 2013 Mary opened The Makery, a business born with a vision to bring handcrafts into everyday life and provide the highest quality supplies around. She wanted to create a space that went above and beyond a vibrant storefront to be a fully-equipped workspace where newbies and seasonal artists could craft side-by-side. Inspired by Mary Heffernan’s mom, Janet, who is well known for her awesome custom knits and baby blankets, The Makery was designed as a place where people could get back to working with their hands, making one-of-a-kind handmade goods. The shop was curated with assistance by Master Maker and Director, Alicia Kealey, who brought years of creative talent, visual merchandising and retail experience as well as a love for color to The Makery. The Makery was sold in 2014.
