FOREST ON FIRST

After Bumble was such a success, The Heffernans wanted to open a second restaurant with with the same ideals for healthy food in a quick-serve cafe environment with an indoor climbing structure for kids to run around and play with friends while parents enjoyed seasonal, farm-to-table fare. The design of the space included a custom-made treehouse play structure that was built by SF designer Barbara Butler. There are no primary colors with an all-natural theme of wood, rock and rope with a touch of green. Working with Michelin chef, Tyler Morrish, the menu was full of healthy-yet-innovative cafe foods, made in our scratch kitchen from local suppliers. The cafe was built with incredible detail- from little reading nooks in the treehouse to housemade butter in baked goods- and was a popular space for locals and families. It was a popular spot for busy families and usually bustling inside those doors! Forest on First was sold in 2014.
